RG Geiger’s work ranges from wet oil painting to online multimedia to dirty synthesizer cables. His paintings, electronic sound design, digital video music publications and music video production explores where human storytelling, screen fonts, and internet culture collide. Based in Anchorage Alaska since 1965, the 74 year old American artist builds moody figurative oil paintings and pairs them with gritty, hardware-driven EBM synthesizer tracks. His canvases focus on raw portraits and animal figures that reflect his everyday life, while his DAWless music skips the computer screen entirely to build pounding rhythms on tactile gear. Having lived in the North since age 12, Geiger draws the sharp edge of his work from decades spent immersed in international, independent music culture. A dedicated lifelong scholar, he holds multiple academic degrees spanning Visual Communication/Journalism, Art, and Medical Technology. Offering equal parts quiet space and industrial noise, Geiger’s multi-medium practice examines survival, machine logic, and emotional resonance.
